teacher's gifts

every year at the close of the school year i come up with something, usually last minute, for the girls' teachers. my project this year...

Photobucket
i found this frame on clearance (& i wish there were more of them now) at michael's a few weeks ago.

the finished product...
Photobucket

steps:
1. paint the outer rim & inside raised frame with black glossy paint
2. paint the teacher's name in black glossy paint, chipboard is colorbok
3. adhere buttons using diamond glaze around the perimeter of the small frame
4. adhere teacher's name to frame
5. adhere the apple (from michael's & was already painted) using a glue gun
6. take a scrap of material & cut into a strip (probably around 1.5 yards) & tie through the hanging hardware on the back of the frame, form a ribbon, hot glue a button to the middle
7. cut a piece of white paper to fit the frame & write a quote, "somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." -carl sagan
